AI for Publishing (Without the Slop)
We’re putting together a live workshop on AI and publishing.
It’s happening Thursday and Friday right before BasedCon—so if you’re already planning to attend, you can come in a couple days early and jump right in.
The focus is practical and hands-on:
Using AI to speed up writing without losing your voice
Where it actually helps (and where it doesn’t)
Real workflows you can use immediately
Avoiding the traps that lead to generic, low-quality output
Bring a laptop or tablet. If you have a novel in progress, even better—you’ll be able to apply this directly to your own work.
There will be multiple presenters sharing what’s working for them (final lineup coming soon), so you’ll get a range of approaches—not just one perspective.
If you’ve been curious about AI but skeptical of the noise, this is worth a look.

Will the available dates for the BasedCon hotel rate be updated to include check-in on Wednesday? It would help to know that before finalizing reservations. I'll plan to attend the workshop, but my current reservation is Thursday thru Sunday. If I can't change it to Wednesday thru Sunday at the BasedCon rate then I'll just reserve the extra day at the normal rate.
What will be the times for the workshop? That really will determine if I can attend
